On March 31 in Valencia Artur Baghdasaryan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia met Julio de Espańa, President of the Cortes Valencianas.

During the meeting of Artur Baghdasaryan, RA NA President and Francisco Mico, General Secretary of the alliance of the cities and municipalities of Valencia state an agreement was reached to hold a forum dedicated to the issues of inter-regional cooperation with the participation of twenty mayors at the end of September. Mr. Mico informed the Parliament President about the functioning of the alliance, and the members - about legal, technical, financial assistance and implementation of different programmes. In his opinion the establishment of practical relations between the cities of Armenia and Spain will promote the implementation of joint programmes.

NA President Artur Baghdasaryan also met with Jema Amur, Minister of Development of Valencia, and during the meeting an agreement was reached to open a Spanish college in Gyumri and a 200-bed hospital in Lori marz.

The same day the NA President met Ann-Marie Lizin, President of the Belgian Senate. Mrs. Lizin invited the NA President to pay an official visit. By the sponsorship of the Belgian Senate and RA NA on March 2007 a forum of municipalities of Belgium and Armenia will be held. And meanwhile, within the framework of New Neighbourhood programme the Belgian Senate and the National Assembly will organize a European conference in Brussels in order to start officially the New Neighbourhood programme.
