Executive Body Proposes Amendments to Law on Anti-Corruption Committee
1 / 3

The executive body makes amendments to the Law on Anti-Corruption Committee in order to ensure the normal activity of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Yeranuhi Tumanyants, in order to ensure the process of recovery of the damages caused to the state and society as a result of crime, including the return of money obtained through criminal means in a short period of time as well as to ensure the proper execution of the investigative action related to the seizure of property, the draft proposes to create a legal basis for the Anti-Corruption Committee to have a deposit account in the future.

It is proposed to stop the activity of the Tender Committee formed to select the first staff of the Anti-Corruption Committee after filling 60% of the vacant positions as a result of filling the subdivision of the Committee performing operative-investigative functions and autonomous positions.

Technical amendments were made to the draft.

The Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan presented a number of proposals related to the initiative, which, according to the key rapporteur, will be taken into account from the first to the second reading.

In his co-report, the deputy Trdat Sargsyan welcomed the initiative and proposed to endorse it.

The bill on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Anti-Corruption Committee authored by the Government was debated at the sitting of the NA standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs held on September 2 and endorsed.
