On March 10 Artur Baghdasaryan, President of the National Assembly, received Hasan Al-Atrash, head of International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission and James McHugh, IMF permanent representative in Armenia.

During the meeting an agreement was reached on holding an international conference in Yerevan in June to discuss with the international experts' participation the key problems of the economic development settlement by law, issues connected with tax-customs administration, as well as the state and possibilities of cooperation between IMF and Armenian authorities.

Mr. Hasan Al-Atrash submitted to NA President the main results of IMF activity in Armenia in 2005, noting with satisfaction that good results have been registered in Armenia, though in the aspect of extending the field of investments there is a necessity of amendments in the tax and customs legislation. NA President Artur Baghdasaryan expressed satisfaction from the procedure of cooperation with IMF and noted that in more increasing the successes we should be more determined in the shadow economy fighting.

During the meeting the sides discussed also other issues.
