Active Engagement in EAEU Work and Cooperation is One of the Priorities of Economic Policy Pursued by Armenia

In 2021, a plan of events for the implementation of the mutual recognition process was discussed and agreed with the colleagues in the mutual recognition process of electronic digital signatures. The Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan informed about this at June 6 joint sitting of the Standing Committees on Regional and Eurasian Integration and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs during the preliminary discussions of the annual report on the RA State Budget Execution for 2021.

Tigran Khachatryan touched upon the work of the Agreement on mutual recognition of bank guarantees, as well as the elaboration of the mechanisms of excluding or double excluding from the National Regime.

As the RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan presented, in 2021 the goods turnover with the EAEU countries had grown by 20.7% compared with the previous year. In 2020, the flow of the foreign direct investments was negative, in 2021 – was positive. In 2021, the Eurasian Economic Commission made 18 decisions of tariff regulation.

Vahan Kerobyan answered to the deputies’ question, touched upon the problems caused on the cargo transportations in Lars checkpoint and the possible ways of its solution. According to him, the work and the discussions with the Russian and Georgian partners on working normal regime continue. According to preliminary agreement, the ferry communication will regularly work from June 15.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mnatsakan Safaryan noted that the active involvement and cooperation to the EAEU work also continued remaining one of the priorities of the economic policy pursued by Armenia in 2021.

In the previous year 3 sittings of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, 4 sittings Eurasian Inter-Governmental Council and 14 sittings of the Eurasian Economic Commission were held. The Agreement on the use of the navigation seals in the EAEU for track transportation was signed. The implementation of the digital technical projects within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union Work without Borders launched. The Agreement on Pension Coverage of Employees of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States entered into force. The document The strategic directions of the Eurasian Economic Integration Development until 2025 was approved.
