People of Karabakh Should Not Go Out, Should Live in Karabakh, Should Have Rights, Freedoms and Status in Karabakh: Nikol Pashinyan
1 / 2

In his concluding speech on the report of the implementation of the Government programme for 2021 the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the two-day debates and the responses followed his speech, as well as the response of the RA third President Serzh Sargsyan. According to Nikol Pashinyan, though yesterday he presented the chain of the events happened during 1998-2018, Serzh Sargsyan referred to only one episode, saying that he never negotiated over the phase by phase settlement of the NK issue. “By clarification of this very episode a fundamental issue is solved that in 1998 the power shift was not for saving the Karabakh from something, but to seize the power,” the Prime Minister underlined.

Nikol Pashinyan presented details from the negotiation process. Regarding the accusations that as if they wanted to hand over Karabakh, the Prime Minister clarified: “If we wanted to hand over Karabakh, then we should go till the end with Serzh Sargsyan’s left negotiation logic, by that we would hand over Karabakh.”

Speaking about his yesterday’s speech, Nikol Pashinyan recorded: “With that speech we opened a space for the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh, because with the whole negotiation process of the previous period Armenia and Artsakh were deprived of political and diplomatic space. We open a road for preserving the statehood for Armenia and Artsakh.”

The RA Prime Minister considered unacceptable the idea of the Artsakh Armenians to leave Karabakh. “The people of Karabakh should not go out, should live in Karabakh, should have rights, freedoms and status in Karabakh. The people of Karabakh should be from Karabakh in Karabakh, from Artsakh and Armenian,” he stressed.

By the proposal of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the end of the speech, the deputies honoured the memory of the martyrs with a minute of silence.
