Artur Hovhannisyan: Due to Geopolitical Developments, Military-Political Leadership of Azerbaijan Tries to Carry Out Ethnic Cleansing in Nagorno Karabakh

On March 31, the Secretary of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction, the Head of the Friendship Group Armenia-Czech Artur Hovhannisyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Armenia Bedřich Kopecký and the members of the parliamentary delegation of Czechia being in Yerevan.

The deputies of the Civil Contract Faction, the members of the Friendship Group Armenia-Czech Arpine Davoyan and Meri Galstyan were also present at the meeting.

Welcoming the guests in the National Assembly of Armenia, Artur Hovhannisyan presented the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the provocations recently unleashed by Azerbaijan.

“Due to the geopolitical developments, the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan tries to carry out ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh,” the Secretary of the Civil Contract Faction said. He also referred to the fake news spread by the Azerbaijani side that as if the Armenian side transferred four military planes to Russia on its balance sheet, or that Armenia refused to negotiate peace with Azerbaijan. “It is absolute misinformation,” Artur Hovhannisyan noted.

Addressing his Czech colleagues, the Secretary of the Civil Contract Faction called on to make a targeted assessment of the issue. It was noted that the Republic of Armenia is ready to start negotiations on a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Armenia Bedřich Kopecký stated that they transmit received information as needed.

Then the participants of the meeting touched upon the environmental problems of both sides and stressed the need to solve them. The steps taken to promote ties between the businessmen of the two countries were also highlighted.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Armenia Bedřich Kopecký noted that without the active participation of the businessmen, it is not possible to solve the economic and environmental problems.

Artur Hovhannisyan conveyed his greetings to the members of the newly created Czech - Armenia Friendship Group in Parliament of the Czech Republic.
