At the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs held on March 28, the Report on Implementation Process and Results of the RA Government Programme for 2021 (2021-2026) approved by the N 234-A Decision of the RA Government on February 28, 2022 was debated.

The RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan informed that in 2021, 214.7 billion AMD was allocated to the Ministry for the implementation of 22 programs, 202.4 billion AMD was spent, the performance was 94.3%. According to the Minister, it is a good result, as the number of performances increases year by year. For example, in 2020, the performance was 84%.

The Minister referred to the major programs implemented in the reporting year.

In order to introduce a joint route network, tenders were organized to choose joint operators of regular routes by road transport in Kotayk, Ararat marzes and Vagharshapat region of Armavir marz.

“From the middle of 2022, Kotayk marz will be served by 150 new minibuses, 80 of which are already in Armenia, 70 – on the road. The process is effectively carried out in Etchmiadzin, but the process is a bit slower in Ararat and Armavir, as the participants of the tender sue each other,” the Minister said.

It was noted that more than 200 settlements in the republic have serious problems with the transport communication: there are no regular flights.

The Minister informed that this year, it is planned to announce tenders in 3 marzes.

In 2021, a new system of technical inspection process of vehicles was also introduced, due to which the requirement for technical inspection coupons was replaced by an electronic control system. It is expected that through the new regulations, the vicious phenomenon of not conducting a real technical inspection will be excluded as much as possible, and the level of road traffic safety will increase.
