1500 Jobs to Be Created by Implementing Myler Investment Program in Aragatsotn: Deputy Minister of Economy

On March 28, the extraordinary sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

The results of the economic policy implemented by the Ministry of Economy of the Report on Implementation Process and Results of the RA Government Programme for 2021 (2021-2026) approved by the N 234-A Decision of the RA Government on February 28, 2022 was debated.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Ani Ispiryan, during the reporting period the gross domestic product (GDP) growth was 5.7%. It was noted that the export of the goods and services against the GDP was 35%. The export for 2021 towards the GDP was grown, due to which the negative difference against the GDP was reduced, reaching – 8%. “For the first time the export of the goods exceeded the threshold of 3 bln USD,” the Deputy Minister informed.

According to Ani Ispiryan, the Myler Investment Program was approved by the Government: multi-functional mountain complex will be built in Aragatsotn marz. “After implementing the program about 1500 jobs will be created, the general investments will be about 30 bln AMD,” the rapporteur underlined.

Regarding the regional cooperation, the Deputy Minister noted that Armenia continued the active involvement in the EAEU work. In 2021 the goods turnover with the EAEU countries was about 2.5 bln USD. Speaking about Armenia-EU cooperation, the representative of the Ministry said that during the reporting period the ratification process of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) ended, and it fully entered into force. The roadmap comprised of more than 300 measures on the CEPA provisions. On 16 September 2021, the first agreement of the strategic cooperation between Armenia and Europe was signed.

The Deputy Minister also presented the programmes implemented in the sphere of tourism.
