Deputies of NA With Honor Faction Meet with Ambassador of France to RA

On March 24, the Head of RA NA With Honor Faction Artur Vanetsyan, the Secretary Hayk Mamijanyan and the deputy Tigran Abrahamyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to the Republic of Armenia Anne Louyot .

Speaking about the Armenian-French warm relations, Artur Vanetsyan thanked the friendly country for showing support to Armenia and the Artsakh Armenians in numerous issues. In this context, the Head of the Faction underlined the importance of the resolutions adopted by the two chambers of Parliament of France during the 44-day war on the recognition of the independence of the Artsakh Republic. The MP expressed hope that in the near future France again would refer to that issue.

Artur Vanetsyan spoke about the humanitarian disaster created recently in Artsakh, particularly voicing about the continuous disruption of the gas supply. As the Head of the Faction has assessed, the policy of Azerbaijan is aimed at the eviction of the Armenians from Artsakh.

The Armenian parliamentarians touched upon also the Azerbaijani armed forces’ actions – use of weapons of different calibers and psychological pressures against the peaceful population of Artsakh. In this context the MPs considered important especially the targeted statements of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries.

The Ambassador underscored the high-level dialogue existing between Armenia and France. Speaking about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, Anne Louyot that recently at the meeting with the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed the wish of France as a OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country to support in resolving the NK problem.

During the meeting the opposition deputies also talked about the inner-political problems of Armenia.
