Studies on Conditions of Shelters Carried Out

At March 15 regular sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security debated the Report on Implementation Process and Results of the RA Government Programme for 2021 (2021-2026) approved by the N 234-A Decision of the RA Government on February 28, 2022.

The RA Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan presented the work implemented by the Ministry during the reporting period. According to him, current 7 fire and rescue volunteer emergency points have been replenished with 3 more. Fire engines were provided to the fire and rescue and the volunteer fire-rescue emergency points established in Shurnukh, Kornidzor and Shikahogh communities of Syunik marz. In the near future, such a fire engine will also be provided to Kornidzor community. The volunteers received the status of a rescuer, and one fire engine was provided to each of the 10 emergency points.

In 2021, 203 new outdoor warning sirens were installed in the regions and in Yerevan, 224 were repaired. Out of 1003 outdoor warning sirens, 961 are in working condition today. In 2021, 485 outdoor warning sirens were in working condition. Today, the republic needs 1544 outdoor warning sirens.

Studies on the condition of the shelters were also carried out. In this regard, the data will be submitted to the Committee in a closed procedure. The basement floors of buildings were studied, proposals were submitted to the relevant bodies.

The Ministry also carried out work on humanitarian response, combining the work with the relevant structure. Thus, psychological support services were provided to 1358 beneficiaries from June 1, 2021 to December 15, for that purpose 100 million AMD allocated by the Government were fully used.

831 citizens who were trapped due to the snowstorm were taken to a safe place with the support of the Ministry.

The RA Deputy Head of Police Ara Fidanyan informed that the primary direction of the police reforms was the establishment of the patrol service and its introduction throughout the republic in stage.

“In particular, on July 7, 2021, after the successful launch of the Patrol Service and the Patrol Service in Yerevan, in order to ensure the continuity of the introduction of the service, we expect to launch Patrol Service in Lori and Shirak regions,” Ara Fidanyan said.

He informed that 582 candidates undergo five-month training at the Police Educational Complex from November 1, 2021 in order to replenish the Patrol Service.

Ara Fidanyan also presented other work carried out by the structure.
