The deputy of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Gevorg Papoyan was interested in the trilateral meeting of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on 15 December 2021, during which an agreement was reached on the restoration of the railway communication between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The deputy inquired about the phase of the process.

The Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has clarified that after returning he has given assignments, a working group has been formed, which is engaged in the organization of the railway construction works. He has spoken about Yeraskh-Julfa-Ordubad-Meghri-Horadiz railway. According to the Prime Minister, the railway shall work in accordance with the international rules, within the framework of the legislations and sovereignty of the two countries.
