On December 7, the RA NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General Vahan Naribekyan met with the Regional Director Europe and Asia, Parliamentary Centre (Canada) Ivo Balinov and the Chief Advisor of the Centre Development, the Senior Parliamentary Development Advisor, Former Clerk (Secretary General) of the Canadian Senate Paul Belisle, who had arrived in Armenia within the framework of the Support to the Parliament of Armenia Project and Local Coordinator of the abovementioned Project Hovhannes Margaryants. The Deputies Chief of Staff Anna Grigoryan, Heghine Khachikyan and Eduard Khanzradyan attended the meeting.

Welcoming the guests, Vahan Naribekyan highly appreciated the effective cooperation with the Centre. “I am glad that we have such colleagues, who are ready to support us for developing the capacities of the Staff of the RA National Assembly, aiming at improving the regular work of the parliament,” the NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General underlined, expressing hope that the cooperation would be lasting and fruitful.

Highlighting the development and deepening of bilateral cooperation, the NA Deputy Chief of Staff Anna Grigoryan expressed conviction that different programs would be jointly implemented directed to the rise of accountability and transparency of the parliament.

The NA Deputy Chief of Staff Heghine Khachikyan noted with satisfaction the fact that for the first time the RA NA Staff jointly with the Parliamentary Centre (Canada) designed the Strategic Planning Process of the RA NA Staff. Seven key directions, which are of priority for the development of the capacities of the parliament’s staff, have been singled out in it.

During the meeting other issues on the Project procedure were discussed.
