Overload of Constitutional Court Increases
1 / 2

On November 3, at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the debate of the revenues and the expenditures designed by the RA law on the RA State Budget for 2022 continued.

The Head of the Constitutional Court Staff Samvel Arakelyan that in 2022, the structure will carry out the only programme Regular Activity Provision of the Constitutional Court (CC), for which the Government will allocate 704mln 600.000 AMD, and two percent of it - the CC reserve fund.

The 89% of the budget will be directed to the payment of the employees’ salary, and the remaining money will be provided for the regular activity of the structure. According to Samvel Arakelyan, in 2021 the overload of the CC essentially increased conditioned by the number of the applications submitted to the CC. Taking into consideration this fact, the deputy of the NA Armenia Faction Aram Vardevanyan highlighted the increase of financing to be allocated to the CC.

The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Vahagn Hovakimyan has been interested in the evaluation, which applications being submitted to the CC are of formal character, the goal of which is simply the overload of the CC. Samvel Arakelyan has not considered correct to voice such evaluation, but has noted that during the personal talks with the applicants, if he has such impression, he will not hesitate to express his opinion.
