Civil Contract Faction Proposes to Have 12 Standing Committees

On August 6, the newly elected National Assembly continued the work.

The NA draft decision on creating Standing Committees of the National Assembly of the RA eighth convocation was debated, and its author was the Civil Contract Faction. It was proposed to create 12 Standing Committees, and two of them, on Health Care, as well as on Labor and Social Affairs, would be forme4d by separating the Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs functioned in the National Assembly of the seventh convocation.

According to Constitution, the seats in the Standing Committees are divided by the proportionality of the number of deputies included in the factions. Taking into consideration that the Civil Contract Faction of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation has 71 deputies, the Armenia Faction – 29, and I Have Honor Faction – 7 members, it was proposed to set the minimum number of the members of the NA Standing Committees 8, and the total number of the other Committee members set according to the loading, as well as if the Civil Contract and Armenia Factions would have seats equal to the total number of their numbers in the Standing Committees, and I Have Honor Faction would have one seat in every Committee.
