At June 7 sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport, the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the RA Law on Education authored by Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Mkhitar Hayrapetyan was debated in the first reading.

According to Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, the problem relates to the settlement of the non-formal and informal education sphere, organizing the additional educational programmes, trainings, professional educational courses and the short-term studies and recognizing its results by the state.

The RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has noted that the Government highly assesses the necessity of having more distinct legislative regulations on non-formal and additional education. The executive body has presented a number of proposals, a part of which relates to the legal technique.

The revised draft law was endorsed.
