The Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan sent a letter of gratitude to the Speaker of Saeima of the Republic of Latvia on the occasion of the adoption of the statement recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide perpetrated during the Ottoman Empire period by the Parliament of Latvia, which, according to Mirzoyan, testifies to the greatest commitment towards justice, humanity, solidarity and the universal values of human rights.
In his letter Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Latvia is a support to the Armenian people, especially taking into consideration the security threats, which we confronted during the Azerbaijani-Turkish 44-day war unleashed against Artsakh. The Speaker of Parliament has added the mass atrocities, the war crimes and the gross violations of the international humanitarian law committed against the Artsakh people, once again has proved that the impunity creates fertile soil for the repetition of the past crimes.
