At May 5 regular sitting, the parliament debated the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Law on the RA Central Bank presented by the Deputy Chairman of the RA Central Bank (CB) Nerses Yeritsyan.

The initiative sets the goals of the investment of centralized registry of the banking accounts in the RA, the circle of the information subject to the inclusion in the registry, as well as the authority of the CB Council, establishing the list of identification information subject to registry conduct, inclusion, including the order and the terms of providing information in the form of reports. According to Yeritsyan, the registry is created for the implementation of the CB goals and functions, as well as for the rise of efficiency of cooperation with the inner-state authorized bodies stipulated by the law on Banking Secret.

“The information included in the registry will continue to be considered information of banking secret. The circle of the bodies of authority of getting information from it remains the same,” the rapporteur added.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Yeghishe Soghomonyan presented the endorsement of the Committee. According to him, the amendments give an opportunity to have a new set of tools in fighting against corruption.

The deputy called on to vote for the initiative.
