NA Deputy on Day of Freedom of Press Hosts Future Journalists

May 3 is World Press Freedom Day. The United Nations Organization sets 3 May 1993 World Press Freedom Day. This date was chosen to mark on the same day when the Declaration for the Development of a Free, Independent and Pluralistic Press was adopted by the UNESCO and the UN in Windhoek (Namibia). After the adoption of that decision every year on May 3 in numerous countries different events, discussions aimed at the protection of press freedom, the evaluation of the freedom press in the world, as well as the memory of the journalists, who died while fulfilling professional obligations.

On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, the deputy of the NA Bright Armenia Faction Anna Kostanyan hosted the students studying in the Faculty of Journalism of different higher educational institutions of Yerevan. The students took the opportunity and applied their professional skills and addressed their questions to the deputy. The journalists were concerned about the issue of the sphere legislative regulation. Though there are a number of laws regulating the sphere, but, according to them, there is need for changes. Particularly, the future journalists think that in our country the freedom of speech has reached to a level of restraint, and in some cases we should restrict it.
