Transparency in Land Auction
1 / 4

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Land Code authored by the NA deputy Artak Manukyan expects to eliminate the corruption phenomena going on during the land auction.

According to the author, it is a spread phenomenon when at the beginning of the auction some of the auction participants propose unsubstantiated high price for the land, but refuse in future, as a consequence of which, the fair holding of the competition is damaged. According to Artak Manukyan, as a final result, the given land is sold with strict low price.

To ensure the transparency of auctions it is proposed to post the announcements on the plots being put for auction, except azdarar.am website, also on the websites of the regional governments.

Another amendment established that the starting price for the sale of the land by auction cannot be less than 100% of the land cadaster price, and the starting price of the sale by the auction in the border, mountainous, high-mountainous, outskirt settlements included in the established list of the RA Government cannot be less than 30% of the land cadaster price.

The representatives of the NA Head Committee and the Government presented the endorsement on the draft law.

Let us note that the draft law was debated in the first reading at the NA March 24 sitting.
