Issues on Legislation Improvement Debated

On March 20, at the regular sitting moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs debated in the second reading the legislative package on Making Addendum and Amendment to the RA Civil Procedure Code and designing addenda and amendments to the enclosed laws.

The draft law on Amending the RA Judicial Code authored by the NA deputies Artur Davtyan and Anna Karapetyan was debated in the first reading.

The Government proposed the authors to touch upon the abovementioned problems within the scope of the amendments presented by the executive body. The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Vahe Danielyan introduced the draft law with its amendment.

The Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan proposed to change the working years for the judges from 15 to 10 years, which was passed by voting. The draft law was endorsed.

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Criminal Procedure Code authored by the Government was debated in the first reading and endorsed.

As the Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan informed, the package of the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Judicial Code Constitutional Law authored by the Government was debated in the second reading.

According to the Minister of Justice, the legislative package has been amended during the period from the first to the second reading.

The Committee postponed the debates of a number of draft laws for two months.

The RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs will continue the work on March 23 at 10::00.
