NA Standing Committee on European Integration Hosts Head of EU Delegation to RA

On November 5, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan and the Committee members met with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, EU Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin.

The Deputy Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Head of Political, Press and Information Section Ekaterina Dorodnova and the Head of Cooperation Section Gonzalo Serrano De La Rosa also took part in the meeting.

The Committee Chair presented to the EU Delegation the application procedure of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the current results of the negotiations over the launch of the visa liberalisation dialogue to the EU countries. Arman Yeghoyan also talked about the content and goals of the reforms in the spheres being implemented after the Velvet revolution happened in Armenia.

The EU Ambassador presented to the Committee details on the programmes being carried out in Armenia by the EU, touched upon the procedural nuances of the launch of the visa liberalisation, as well as expressed her satisfaction with the application procedure of the RA-EU Agreement and the quality of the work done.

During the meeting both sides highlighted the necessity of decent awareness of the public about the EU programmes being implemented in Armenia, and in general, the role and the mission of the European Union in our country.

The interlocutors referred to the awareness about the investment opportunities in Armenia, as well as the importance of having decent information work with the investors.

The Armenian parliamentarians considered important the various programmes being carried out in Armenia and highly assessed the support shown to the democratic reforms.

An agreement was reached to continue and deepen the dialogue on the discussed all directions
