Debate Behind Closed Doors Held at NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs

On March 29,a meeting with the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan at the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs took place. The debate went on behind the closed doors.

As a result of disclosure of different corruption cases, items relating to the sums returned to the budget, the revelation of the criminal cases of public interest and sounding, as well as the problems of the reforms in the Prosecutor’s Office and, in general, in the legal system were discussed. The participants especially touched upon the examination of March 1 and a number of other cases.

The Prosecutor General presented information on the revelations in the North-South Highway construction process, as well as Amulsar case.

During the debate the Committee members addressed numerous questions to the Prosecutor General on the corruption scandals connected with concrete cases, the former different officials, as well as the events and problems increasing the public trust towards the system of the Prosecutor’s Office.
