On January 29, the President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan received the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin.
Congratulating Ararat Mirzoyan on the occasion of the results of the free, fair and transparent parliamentary elections and personally him for being elected President of the National Assembly, on behalf of the UNDP Dmitry Mariyasin expressed readiness to support the programmes being declared prior by the legislative body in the future, too.
Thanking the guest for the congratulation and readiness of further cooperation, Ararat Mirzoyan evaluated the role of the UN Development Programme in the implementation of the draft programmes relating to the most different spheres in our country.
Duirng the meeting the sides have discussed the directions of the spheres by which it is expedient to develop the further cooperation, including the steps taken to the experts’ support, the strengthening of the institutional capabilities of the National Assembly Staff, the development of the parliamentary diplomacy and, in general, the parliamentarism. The Head of the legislative body highlighted the systematization of the support programmes of the international different structures and their target goal.
