Answer of RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan to Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s Announcement
1 / 1

The concern of the RA First President Levon Petrosyan related to the MPs’ resignations is indeed appraisable. Of course, it is necessary that we’ll all be led by the Constitution not violating the letter of the law. As Speaker of the National Assembly, I have acted by that very principle, even in the most complicated situations. Regarding the deputies who have presented resignations, the RPA Faction of the National Assembly have already announced that there have been no demand for submitting resignation towards any deputy of the Faction. The MP Grigor Avalyan’s resignation is his personal decision, according to his convictions, and the right is reserved to the MP by the Constitution. Of course, I have also talked with the MP Aghvan Vardanyan. I have urged him not to hurry, make use of the right of not approving the resignation reserved by the Constitution, but Mr Vardanyan has insisted on his personal decision which is based on his principles and convictions. The latter has made an announcement.

Under the Constitution, now we'll have to wait and after that record the facts.

I hope that from now on we’ll be led by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia.
