1 / 1

On April 6, the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport organized a meeting with the members of YSU Student Council to discuss the RA draft law on Higher Education.

The Committee Chair Vardan Bostanjyan highlighted the students’ participation in the debate of such draft law.

“The goal of the law is to create an effective legal basis for the regulation of the system of the higher education, provision of quality and improvement, raise the competitiveness, boost the internalization and the continuous investment of innovations,” Vardan Bostanjyan said.

The Deputy Chair of the Committee Karen Avagyan welcomed the debates in such format, underlining the necessity of affirming the principles of the state policy in the sphere of the higher education.

The students touched upon the problem of the hours for the subjects of the Armenian Language and History of Armenia, their full and professional loading, the regulation of the Governing Council works and the protection of the students’ rights.

Vardan Bostnajyan noted that the students’ recommendations would be presented during the debate of the draft law. An agreement was reached to continue the debates in such format.
