Ruzanna Arakelyan

Born on February 15, 1959 in Yerevan.

1982 - Graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Yerevan State University. Philologist, teacher of Armenian language and literature.

1982 -1991 - Correspondent, then head of division of the “Avangard” newspaper.

1991-1994 - Head of the division of “Yerkir” daily newspaper.

Since 1998 - Works at Public Radio of Armenia.

Since 1989 - Member of the ARF party. Member of Union of Journalists in Armenia.

2007 - 2012 - Member of Parliament (proportional electoral system, ARF). Member of the Standing Committee on European Integration of the National Assembly. Member of the “Armenian Revolutionary Federation” faction.

May 16, 2018 - Elected Member of Parliament of the National Assembly by the ARF national electoral list.

2011 - Awarded “Mkhitar Gosh” Medal.

2016 - Gold Medal of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia.

2016 - Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora “Ambassador of the Native Language.”

Author of two books: “Smoke” and “Faith,” and numerous articles.

Married, with a child.
