Alen Simonyan Receives Head of the Regional Council Île-de-France Valérie Pécresse

On December 21, the President of the RA National Assembly received the delegation led by the Head of the Regional Council Île-de-France Valérie Pécresse.

Welcoming the guests, the RA NA President has noted that France is an absolute leader in terms of a number of visits to Armenia, on the basis of which are the centuries-old friendly relations and the political close cooperation between the two peoples.

Alen Simonyan expressed gratitude to Valérie Pécresse for the adoption of the resolution on the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh by the Regional Council Île-de-France, as well as for allocating 75.000 Euros assistance aimed at the needs of population displaced as a consequence of war.

The interlocutors have noted that decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France is one of the important components of bilateral relations.

Expressing her thankfulness for the reception, Valérie Pécresse highlighted the multi-polar cooperation with Armenia. According to her, the two countries are the bearers of the same universal values, and the problems concerning Armenia cannot leave indifferent France.

During the talk the issues relating to the situation in the post-war Artsakh, the unsolved humanitarian problems and the preservation of the cultural heritage were touched upon.

In this context the priorities of the repatriation of the Armenians held in Azerbaijan were discussed. Valérie Pécresse emphasized the role of international community in conflict solution process.
