His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians sent a congratulatory message to Alen Simonyan on the occasion of assuming the RA NA President’s post. Noting that the National Assembly of the eighth convocation with its work begins in a complicated and hard situation for our country, and the National Assembly with its legislative activities is called on promoting to overcome it and the further progress of the Motherland and building welfare, Karekin II sent his patriarchal blessing to the newly elected NA Speaker and the parliament.

The President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan had a telephone talk with the His Holiness, Catholicos of Cilicia Aram I. His Holiness sent his congratulations and blessing of Catholicos to the NA President, wishing him success. He also called on him for unity.

The President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Italy Roberto Fico also congratulated Alen Simonyan, expressing conviction that during his tenure the dialogue and cooperation would more strengthen between the two parliaments.

The Speaker of the People’s Assembly of Syria Hammouda Sabbagh in his congratulatory message sent to the NA Speaker has noted that they are ready to continue the development of the relations and the parliamentary cooperation with the National Assembly of Armenia for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.

On the occasion of being elected in the post of the Head of the legislative body the newly elected Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan also received congratulation from the Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee of China Li Zhanshu.

The Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova and the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen congratulated Alen Simonyan on assuming the RA NA Speaker’s post.
