Expenditure Programmes of Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Presented in Budgetary Debates

At the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs the deputies continued debating the budgetary allocations of the coming year.

The RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan informed that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport should implement 21 programmes with 176 events. The total expenditure will be about 226bln AMD, which in 2021 is more 48bln 694mln AMD than the approved budget.

The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan detailed the financial request designed by the budgetary document. An unprecedented growth of the expenditures is designed with about 48.7bln AMD.

According to the Minister, the education continues remaining in the series of the priorities of the Government. 175bln AMD will be directed to this sphere, which by 23.3% more than the budgetary allocation of the previous year. The allocations will be directed to the implementation of 10 programmes.

The growth on the preliminary handicraft and the secondary professional education and higher educational and post higher-educational institution professional education was 15.2%, 112bln AMD was designed for the general educational programme.

For the first time 237mln AMD was designed to provide pre-school education for 1679 children of some social groups.

The growth of the expenditures on the extra-school upbringing programmes is 525mln AMD. Organization for summer rest of 3200 schoolchildren and military camp of the general schools’ 11-year classes is designed. Fundamental repair of the sports hall is designed.

Growth of expenditures was designed by the educational quality provision programme. About 1.5bln drams were designed for the investment of the certification new system. In 2022, voluntary certification for 5100 teachers is designed compared with 1100.

Considerable investments are designed for the construction of the sports entities and providing equipment. Essential changes are not designed for the youth programmes.

About 22.5bln drams were designed on scientific and scientific-technical researches – by 65.6% more than the previous year.

16.5bln drams will be allocated for the sphere of culture – 7.4% more than the previous year. Creation of 6 films is envisaged. Financial means will also be provided for enlivening the cultural life of the marzes.

The expenditures for the sphere of sport will be doubled. The main priority will be the continuous development of the great sport, the improvement of the position of our country on the international platforms and the and making the healthy way of living for masses.

Summing up Vahram Dumanyan underlined that the increases of the budget will be mainly directed to the capital expenditures – about 30bln drams and the development of science - about 10bln drams.
