List of Beneficiaries Receiving Medicines Free of Charge and on Preferential Terms to be Expanded in 2022

On November 8, at the joint sitting of the RA NA Standing Committees on Health Care and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the financial allocations and budget programmes of the health sphere envisaged by the draft law on the RA State Budget for 2022 were debated.

First, the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan touched upon the pandemic situation. According to her, 810 cases of covid infection have been registered on the previous day, and the number of deaths is 35, including a death of a pregnant woman. Anahit Avanesyan has affirmed that the only way to fight against pandemic is and remains the vaccination which stabilizes the situation. Now, 613.000 citizens received the first dose, and 276.000 citizens – the second dose.

Touching upon the financial allocations of the state budget for 2022, the Minister has stated that 13 programmes with 50 events will be carried out next year.

According to Anahit Avanesyan, the Primary Health Care programme will be implemented aimed at providing affordable, quality primary medical care and services to the population, and 27.804.5mln AMD will be allocated to it.

3bln 880mln drams were envisaged by the Medicine programme. Expenditures increased by 10 % compared to the current year. Coverage of 12 diseases will be ensured, and the state will provide 267.175 beneficiaries with appropriate medicines free of charge and on preferential terms.

The Ministry will implement other programmes too, the purpose of which is to provide quality emergency medical services in situations that endanger human life and health, as well as to increase the level of accessibility and affordability of medical care for persons who are included in socially vulnerable and special groups.

It has also been noted that one of the main problems of the Ministry of Health is the continuous improvement of oncology services in the republic. In 2022, it is planned to review the prices of oncology surgeries.

Capital expenditures will be made to improve building, material and technical conditions of marz health organizations.
