On February 20-22, at the Knesset of Israel an international conference of parliamentary directors-general and secretaries-general is held, where parliaments of only 25 countries and international organisations are represented, and among them is the Republic of Armenia. The RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Ara Saghatelyan takes part in the works of the Conference.

About 50 senior officials of the Administrations of the parliaments of the world take part in the largest ever held Inter-Parliamentary Conference in the history of the Knesset. Knesset Director-General Albert Sacharovich and Knesset Secretary Yardena Meller-Horowitz also attend the works of the Conference.

Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Yoel Edelstein expressed conviction that the conference will greatly contribute to enhancing the effective cooperation between the parliaments.

During the conference discussions will be held particularly on the example of the Knesset on the accessibility of the parliaments for the public, the transparency and publicity of the legislative work and the parliamentary oversight towards the legislative body. The participants of the forum will have cognitive visits to the “Green Knesset,” the Knesset Guard, the Visitors Center. The guests will visit the Western Wall and the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, and the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv.

Let us note that the parliamentary delegations of Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, the Council of Europe, the Czech Republic, the European Parliament, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Rwanda, Sweden, Switzerland, Uganda, and Ukraine take part in the works of the Conference.
