Members of Armenia-Israel Friendship Group Sum Up Visit to State of Israel

On February 11-15, at the invitation of the Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, the Head of Israel-Armenia Friendship Group Tali Ploskov Armenia-Israel Friendship Group of the RA National Assembly headed by Gagik Minasyan was in Israel. At February 16 press conference the Head of the Group and members Gagik Melikyan, Aghvan Vardanyan, Vahe Enfiajyan and Gevorg Gorgisyan presented details on the visit.

Gagik Minasyan has informed that the visit has been rather full, a number of working meetings were held in the parliament and in the government. The parliamentary delegation also met with the representatives of the Armenian community and visited the Armenian Patriarchate.

During the meetings issues regarding particularly the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the region were discussed.

The Armenian side expressed hope that Israel would approach the issue of the NK problem settlement as a country bearing European values with the same principles as the OSCE Minsk Group.

The RA NA deputies have considered non-understandable the fact that Israel supplies weapon to such tyrannical state as Azerbaijan, the head of which with his statements equaled himself with the leaders of Nazi Germany.

During the meetings the members of the delegation highlighted the necessity of the development of the ties in the spheres of high technologies, tourism, the deepening of the contacts between the two peoples.

In Gevorg Gorgisyan's word, the Jewish people are interested in Armenia, and this year increase of the number of the tourists to our country is expected.

In the course of the meetings the parties emphasized the perspectives of cooperation in different spheres of economy. According to Gagik Melikyan, Israel is very interested in being participant of the creation of the free economic zone in the EEU framework.

Vahe Enfiajyan noted that the issues concerning the cooperation in the ecological and agricultural spheres.

Aghvan Vardanyan informed that preliminary agreement was reached on organizing Armenia-Israel Business-Forum.
