Ara Babloyan Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador of Malta to Armenia

On February 8, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received Natasha Meli Daudey, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malta to Armenia (residence in Warsaw)/

Congratulating the Ambassador, the Head of the parliament expressed hope that she will contribute to strengthening and development of friendly relations between the two countries. Ara Babloyan has underlined that there is unused great potential of cooperation.

Highlighting the inter-parliamentary cooperation, the RA NA President noted that the activities of Armenia-Malta Friendship Group would promote the dialogue and effective activities between the parliaments of the two countries.

He also considered necessary the mutually beneficial contacts on the parliamentary different platforms.

The RA NA President emphasized the signing of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, considering it as one more important step to Europe. In this context Ara Babloyan noted: “We are glad that Malta being a small country has its unique place in big Europe, and it encourages me, because Armenia being a small country tries to become a bridge of cooperation between Europe and the EEU.”

Touching upon the regional problems, the NA President said: “Irrespective of all hardships and the totalitarian aspirations adopted by the neighbouring countries, the strategy of Armenia differs by the fact that its main weapon is democracy. I am sure that Armenia has a right to be a member of a family being a cradle of democracy and peace.”

Thanking for the warm reception, Natasha Meli Daudey expressed readiness to support the enlivening of Malta-Armenia inter-parliamentary relations. The Ambassador expressed hope that partnership relations would be established between the parliaments of the two countries and mutual visits and contacts would get activated in the coming years.

At the end of the meeting wishing success to the Ambassador during the implementation of her mission, Ara Babloyan noted that he would support in every possible way for further deeepning and strengthening of bilateral contacts.
