On February 5, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan with the President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Dominique de Buman took part in the opening of the new workshop of Avan Salt Plant.

The project was implemented with the Armenian-Swiss joint efforts: the German side also had contribution in it.

The Presidents of the Armenian and Swiss parliaments took a tour on the territory of the newly opened workshop and got acquainted with the working process and conditions.

Congratulating the Swiss side on the occasion of the Armenian-Swiss regular succeeded project, the RA NA President has noted that the event is one more visible expression of enlivening of the developing relations of the two countries and business ties.

“The Swiss colleagues' participation in the economic life of Armenia testifies to the fact that there are favourable conditions in our country for being engaged in entrepreneurship and implementing business-projects.” Ara Babloyan said.

The Head of the legislative body expressed conviction that this initiative will be a new impetus for the involvement of investments and development of our economy. In Ara Babloyan's word, the Armenian-Swiss Business Forum organized in Yerevan will create a good basis for further cooperation.

Congratulating the leadership and the employees of Avan Salt Plant on the occasion of the refurbishing and modernization of the enterprise, the RA NA President expressed confidence that it would give an opportunity to further raise the quality and competitiveness of the product, providing growth of export volumes.

The President of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan handed letters of appreciation to the Chief Mechanic of the nriching Plant Adik Aydinyan and the Welder of Marmontage organisation Hovakim Hakhverdyan for their excellent fulfillment of their working obligations and tasks during the construction of the new workshop of Avan Salt Plant.

The President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation on behalf of the delegation and him thanked the Armenian side on the occasion of the implementation of the Armenian-Swiss joint programme, highlighting the necessity of the Embassy of Switzerland in Armenia and the availability of the Trade Chamber. Dominique de Buman has reminded about the thirtieth year of the first aid brought to Armenia by Switzerland.

After the solemn ceremony of the opening of the new workshop of Avan Salt Plant the President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Dominique de Buman took part in Armenia-Switzerland Business Forum organized in Yerevan.
