On October 17, the members of the RA National Assembly Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazayev.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group Karen Bekaryan presented the members of the Friendship Group attending the meeting – the RA NA Deputy Speaker, Mikayel Melkumyan, the deputies Arman Saghatelyan, Mihran Hakobyan and Tigran Urikhanyan.

Karen Bekaryan noted that the Friendship Group would contribute possible efforts to developing and deepening the dialogue existing between the parliaments of Armenia and Kazakhstan. The Head of the Friendship Group touched upon the issues of supporting each other and activating the cooperation with the Embassies on the international platforms. In Karen Bekaryan’s word, in the coming years the contacts of the Friendship Groups should undertake certain steps, using the existing potential.

Welcoming the members of the Friendship Group, Timur Urazayev highlighted the cooperation between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups. According to the Ambassador, Kazakhstan and Armenia have common approaches over many issues, as well as common system of values, on which the policy of the two countries is based.

Timur Urazayev expressed hope that the new Friendship Group would effectively work like the previous one, promoting the development of both the inter-parliamentary and the inter-party relations of the two countries. The Ambassador also highlighted the cooperation of the parliamentary delegations and the balanced approaches in the international structures.

Afterwards the participants of the meeting expressed their viewpoints on the activation of the activities of the Friendship Groups, boosting of the economic cooperation, the enlivening of the ties in the cultural and communication spheres.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan expressed regret on not using the potential existing in the sphere of economy. In Mikayel Melkumyan’s word, in case of the solution of logistic problems the economic ties would activate, including the goods turnover.
