On July 11, the meeting of the RA NA Council, presided over by the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan, took place.

The RA NA Council draft decision on Approval of Procedure for the Establishment and Functioning of RA NA Delegations to International Parliamentary Organizations, presented by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Armen Ashotyan, was discussed. The draft decision regulates procedure for the establishment and functioning of RA NA delegations to international parliamentary organizations aimed at ensuring the efficiency of the delegations’ activities. The problems of personal responsibility of the delegation members were enshrined; the principles embedded in the activities of each parliamentary delegation member were enumerated.   Armen Ashotyan noted that the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, authorized with appropriate functions in the implementation of parliamentary diplomacy and inter-parliamentary ties, assumes certain role in coordinating that works defined by the RA NA decision.

As a result of the discussions, the RA NA Council draft decision was approved.

Thereafter the RA NA Council draft decision on Creating Friendship Groups in the National Assembly, also presented by Armen Ashotyan, was considered. It was mentioned that the draft decision had also been discussed at the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, where it had been recommended to add one more friendship group to the existing 58: Armenia- Jordan Friendship Group.
