June 14 marks World Blood Donor Day in many countries, in connection with that a number of events are organized. In the medical calendar this day is distinguished aiming at expressing gratitude to the voluntary blood donors, as well as draw the community’s attention to this issue of great social importance. This year the slogan of the World Blood Donor Day is: “Don’t wait until disaster strikes. What can we do? Give blood, give now, give often.”
On the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day R. Yeolyan Haematology Centre organized voluntary free blood donation, where the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan, the NA deputies, representatives of the parliament staff and journalists donated blood.
The RA NA deputies Hrayr Tovmasyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Margarit Yesayan and Karen Avagyan were awarded Blood Donor honourable badge for showing active participation in the process of voluntary blood donation.
Handing over the awards, Director of R. Yeolyan Haematology Centre Smbat Daghbashyan highlighted the holding of the event in the parliament and called on to show activeness in blood donation process.
