On June 12, the RA NA Council sitting was held, conducted by the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan.

The RA NA draft decisions of the RA NA Council on Establishing the Exemplary Working Procedure of the RA NA Standing Committees, on Establishing the Schedule of the Regular Sittings of the RA NA Standing Committees and on Establishing the RA NA Staff Structure and Statute, which as a result of debates were approved by the NA Council members.

The RA NA Deputy Chief of Staff-Head of Secretary Tatul Soghmonyan presented the RA NA draft decisions of the RA NA Council on Establishing the Exemplary Working Procedure of the RA NA Standing Committees, which relates to the exercise of the authorities of the Standing Committees, the procedure of holding regular and extraordinary sittings, the authorities of the Chairperson of the sitting, the sequence of the debate of the items at the Committee sitting and other issues concerning the Committees’ activities.

Mr Soghomonyan also detailed the provisions being designed by the RA NA draft decision of the RA NA Council on Establishing the Schedule of the Regular Sittings of the RA NA Standing Committees: the days and hours of convening the sittings of the Committees were distinctly established.

The RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Ara Saghatelyan presented for debate the RA NA draft decisions of the RA NA Council on Establishing the RA NA Staff Structure and Statute, by which the main problems, functions, structure and management, the legal status of the discretionary officials, state servants and other employees and the main functions, the legal state of the staff structural department and the main functions and other provisions were defined. Mr Saghatelyan noted that in this phase some structural changes were proposed, which will be continuous in the future. In this context, he also talked about the staff members’ policy and staff optimization to be implemented in the NA Staff. The NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General underlined that the goal of the changes is to make the NA works more effective and recruit professional specialists.

The RA NA Council members presented a number of content and editorial recommendations.

By the decision of the NA Council members, the composition of the RA NA delegations to the international parliamentary organizations were debated and approved in extraordinary manner.

At the end of the sitting, the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan has informed that an electronic management system will be established, which will give an opportunity to have a common working platform by connecting an MP’s computers in the office and in the Session Hall. Mr Babloyan noted that due to the electronic management system the deputies can electronically get acquainted with the legislative initiatives in the Session Hall.
