RA National Assembly Continues Work of Extraordinary Sitting

On June 8, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the NA extraordinary sitting and by voting passed the bill on Corruption Prevention Commission debated in the first reading on the previous reading with the enclosed package, which authored the RA NA Deputy Speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan and the RA Government.

The co-author of the package Arpine Hovhannisyan has informed before voting that the proposal of the parliamentary opposition, as well as the NA ARF was accepted, according to which, the opposition will have an opportunity to nominate for being included in the Corruption Prevention Commission. The representatives of the NA Way Out and Tsarukyan allies informed that they will vote for the package.

Afterwards the parliament in the first reading passed the bill on Amending the RA Law on Public Utility Regulatory Body.

The deputies continued debating in the first reading the bill on Amending the RA Law on State Property Privatization Programme for 2017-2020, on which the RA NA Deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan delivered a speech.

The RA NA Factions (the Head of the ARF Armen Rustamyan, the Head of the Way Out Nikol Pashinyan, Tsarukyan – Mikayel Melkumyan, the Head of the RPA Faction Vahram Baghdasaryan) expressed their positions on the bill.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov took the advantage of his right to deliver a speech

The NA Deputy Speaker noted the big public sounding of the issue, which also witnessed the parliamentary two-day debates by the political forces. Eduard Sharmazanov also touched upon the oversight functions of the parliament and highlighted its due implementation in the privatization process. He urged his colleagues to vote for the bill.

In their final speeches the key and co-reporters Arman Sahakyan and Khosrov Harutyunyan talked about the deputies’ sounded interpellations and gave clarifications.

The legislative package on Amending the RA Law on the RA Administrative-Territorial Division and on Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government was debated in the first reading

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Vache Terteryan has informed that it is designed to implement 34 projects of community enlargement by the legislative package.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Araik Hovhannisyan has informed that the representatives of the local self-government participating in the debates at the Committee sitting expressed their position, and an endorsement was presented.

The RA NA deputies Gevorg Gorgisyan, Armenuhi Kyureghyan, Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Zurabyan, Hakob Hakobyan, Artashes Geghamyan, Vardevan Grigoryan, Mane Tandilyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Artak Zeynalyan, Rustam Makhmudyan, Luiza Sargsyan and Sergey Bagratyan on the expediency of the community enlargement.

Eduard Sharmazanov delivered an extraordinary speech

The RA NA Deputy Speaker talked about the importance of the idea and underlined that the people's interests should exclusively on the basis of any decision of the parliament and called on his colleagues to vote for the draft law and urged the government to listen to the voice of the MPs, head of the communities and the people.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan also delivered an extraordinary speech

According to Mr Melkumyan's conviction, we should adjust, modernize the territorial system to the enlargement programme.

The RA NA Factions (the RA NA Way Out, RA NA Tsarukyan, the RA NA RPA) expressed their viewpoints on the legislative package.

In their final speeches Araik Hovhannisyan and Vache Terteryan touched upon the MPs' concerns and gave exhaustive answers. Defending the idea of the enlargement they expressed readiness to debate all recommendations from the first to the second reading.

Afterwards the parliament in the first reading by voting passed the legislative package on Amending the RA Law on State Property Privatization Programme for 2017-2020, on Amending the RA Law on the RA Administrative-Territorial Division and on Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government.

The National Assembly will continue the work of the extraordinary sitting on June 9, at 11:00.
