On April 26, the Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly, Head of Armenia-Czech Republic Friendship Group Eduard Sharmazanov had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Czech Republic-Armenia Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Robin Böhnisch.

The NA Deputy Speaker highly assessed the adoption of the Resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide by the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, noting that it is a one more step towards the international recognition and condemnation of genocides. Eduard Sharmazanov especially highlighted the contribution of the author of the resolution Robin Böhnisch to the adoption of the document and expressed his gratitude to all MPs of the Czech Parliament, noting: “By that step the Czech Republic reaffirmed its adherence to democratic values and protection of human rights. Your decision was a one more step towards victory of light over darkness.”

During the telephone conversation Eduard Sharmazanov condemned the denial policy of Turkey, adding that until now Turkey has not changed its handwriting: it continues denying the fact of the Armenian Genocide and does not wish to face its history.

“The gravest crime committed more than 100 years ago has no period of limitation and due to its recognition and condemnation it is possible to prevent the perpetration of new genocides against mankind,” the NA Deputy Speaker documented.
