On February 6, under the RA anthem sounds the eleventh session of the NA fifth convocation began.

The parliament began the work of the first four-day sittings of the session.

By the proposal of the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan the deputies welcomed a group of teachers and pupils Hrazdan N 4 basic school, who visited the parliament within the framework of the NA Open Doors programme. The NA Speaker presented the draft laws of the agendas of the eleventh session of the NA fifth convocation and February 6-9 four-day sittings.

Galust Sahakyan touched upon the issue of the formation of the NA Ad-hoc Accounting Committee, proposing to reaffirm the staff of the Committee, and the decision was made. Galust Sahakyan urged the NA factions to present their candidates in written form for being included in the NA Ad-hoc Accounting Committee and the NA Committee on Ethics.

The deputies voted the draft laws to be included in the agenda of the eleventh session of the NA fifth convocation, and as a result of voting, the draft laws did not receive necessary number of votes.

Afterwards Artak Davtyan in the second reading endorsed the draft law on Amending the RA law on Ecological Education and Upbringing authored by the NA deputy Ruzanna Muradyan.

Then the legislative package on Amending the RA Criminal Code and on Recognizing Invalid the Article 1 of HO-49-N of RA Law of May 17, 2016 was debated, and it was submitted by the Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan.

The NA deputy Gagik Jhangiryan referred to the revised package and the provisions to be amended.

Arpine Hovhannisyan in the first reading submitted for debate the draft law on Amending the RA Criminal Code.

The member of the Committee Levon Martirosyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on the package and the draft laws.

During the exchange of thoughts the NA deputies Khosrov Harutyunyan and Gagik Jhangiryan expressed their concerns on some provisions of the draft law and submitted a number of proposals.

The RA Minister of Justice touched upon the deputies’ observations and gave clarifications.

Afterwards the Deputy Head of the Department of the State Property Management adjunct to the RA Government Ashot Markosyan submitted for debate of the parliament the draft law on Amending the RA law on the Programme of the State Property Privatization for 2006-2007.

The parliament debated the Annual Programme of the Activity of the Control Chamber (CC) of the Republic of Armenia for 2017, presented by the Deputy Chairman of the CC Ara Nranyan.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The MPs in the first reading debated the draft law on Amending the RA law on Social Security of the Servicemen and Their Family Members, which presented the RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan submitted the endorsement of the Committee.

The parliament in the first reading debated the legislative package on Amending the RA law on Accumulative Pensions, on Amending the Ra law on Investment Funds and on Amending the RA Civil Code. The key speaker, the Deputy Chairman of the RA Central Bank Nerses Yeritsyan presented the draft laws.

The parliament will continue the work on February 7.
