On November 10, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Galust Sahakyan received the Co-Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly and RF Federal Assembly Nikolay Ryzhkov and the Committee members.

Welcoming the guests, Galust Sahakyan highlighted the holding of the 28^th sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee, which once again proves the strengthening of cooperation and the readiness of development from both sides.

The Head of the parliament has underlined with satisfaction that the Armenian-Russian friendly relations have a centuries-old and rich history, which serve a firm basis for the strategic cooperation of the two countries.

Appreciating the role of the inter-parliamentary ties in the development of the inter-state relations, Galust Sahakyan has stated that in that issue the Inter-Parliamentary Committee has a significant contribution, and it efficiently coordinates the relations between the RA National Assembly and the RF Federal Assembly.

The Head of the parliament emphasized Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEC), which created wide opportunities for the development of bilateral trade-economic relations.

Thanking for the warm reception, the Co-Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly and RF Federal Assembly Nikolay Ryzhkov highly assessed the friendship and the inter-parliamentary cooperation existing between Armenia and Russia.

Galust Sahakyan and Nikolay Ryzhkov expressed conviction that the discussions of the sitting will be efficient and will correspond with the allied cooperation existing between Armenia and Russia.

At the end of the meeting on the occasion of the 25^th Anniversary of the RA Independence, RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan awarded the RA NA deputy, the Deputy Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA NA and RF FA Volodya Badalyan, who has been effectively working for many years in the mentioned Committee, the RA NA Medal of Honour for his contribution to the public and political life.
