Galust Sahakyan’s Congratulatory Address on Local Self-Government Day
1 / 1

The RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan sent a congratulatory address on Local Self-Government Day. The address, particularly said:

“I congratulate the local self-government bodies and their employees on the 20th anniversary of the creation of the local self-government system.

Today, after two decades of the creation of the local self-government bodies, their work continues in the context of the recent RA Constitutional amendments, which together with the increase of the authorities also supposes the great opportunities of organizing the life of the community, as well as the inhabitants’ wider and active participation in the local self-government bodies’ processes. Every period proposes its problems, which having commonalities are also special, and their solutions stem from the interests of every community and its every resident and the whole country. It is very important that the local self-government bodies with their establishment managed to solve those problems as much as possible.

Standing at best next to the resident of the community, the local self-government bodies are a kind of force on the way of raising, but also solving the problems of not only the communities. The quality of the people’s life in the communities greatly depends on the work of the representatives of the local self-government bodies, a work that apart from professionalism, organizational ability also requires pure human criteria, from responsibility to patience and decency.

The RA Constitution and the legislative field stemming from it give wide legal opportunity for the solution of the community problems, and the local self-government bodies are the direct addressees and responsible body for those problems taking part in the formation of the entire state’s rating with their activity, because the citizen sums up the work of the whole state system in the evaluation of the work of the local self-government bodies. Joint and consolidated work of the communities and citizens is necessary for the dignified future of the country and the citizen based on the mutual help and mutual trust, because every community is the most important ring of the united state, strengthens it with its force and gets strength from it.

Once again congratulating the local self-government bodies, and its employees, I wish them success, purposefulness, steadfastness and continuous progress.”
