On October 25, at the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs a closed door debate held with the participation of the RA Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan, during which issues regarding the legislative reforms in the sphere of defense, the new approaches against corruption, the replenishment of the armed forces, the social insurance of the servicemen and their family members, the military education, the upgrading of the depot battalion and the military industrial complex were discussed.

Highlighting the first meeting with the newly appointed minister, the Committee Chair Koryun Nahapetyan expressed hope that the partnership relations based on mutual trust will be more strengthened with the Ministry of Defense.

In the course of the meeting the Minister of Defense answered the Committee members’ questions and expressed readiness of forming further cooperation with the Committee.
