On October 12, the meeting of the RA NA Deputy Speaker, PACE Vice President, Head of the RA NA Delegation to PACE Hermine Naghdalyan and PACE President Pedro Agramunt took place at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). During the meeting, current issues concerning the Assembly works, the possible developments of the political processes, the cooperation and the procedure of the initiatives being circulated in PACE were discussed.
According to the tradition, the Assembly Presidents visit member states, and the acting PACE President also expressed wish to visit the Republic of Armenia.
Pedro Agramunt has also informed that he is going to take the initiative of establishing contacts between Armenian and Azerbaijani Delegations and discuss the possibilities of organizing the PACE activities in a more constructive way.
During their talk Hermine Naghdalyan has noted that in the recent period the processes going on in PACE and new initiatives have been very important and have their influence on the Assembly processes and in that sense PACE President’s initiatives are essential. Mrs Naghdalyan has added that in any case the Armenian side expects PACE President’s more impartial, balanced and unbiased approaches, which will promote, first of all, the efficiency of the Assembly works and the improvement of the atmosphere. The parties agreed to touch upon the raised issues in the upcoming January Session.
