RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan sends congratulatory message on Translators’ Day which reads:
“Hundreds of years ago we created masterpieces of translation and linked languages, peoples and worlds with that. The translation emerged among us as a culture, due to high qualified translations, which today are the inseparable part of not only the Armenian, but the world literature treasury. Although nowadays the translation activity besides being a profession has turned into an entire economy, including numerous modern technologies apart from a word and a language, the translated values created among us continue having a fundamental and tradition shaping role.
The translator’s work is a huge responsibility before the works, its authors, the readers and just before themselves. Mesrop Mashtots and Sahak Partev, and their pupils deeply realized all that. Today, celebrating Translators’ Day, we pay tribute to both their work and legacy, and their responsibility they assumed, and which has the most important significance also in today’s translation work.
I am sure that our people’s special attitude towards writing, literature and word will continue to be a stimulus for our spiritual enrichment, promoting the accessibility of our culture through the advancement of translations.”
