On September 23, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan received the representatives of the German Deutsche Welle TV company.

At the guests’ request Artak Zakaryan talked about the Armenian-German multilateral relations, particularly, the inter-parliamentary close cooperation, as well as the problems relating to the regional cooperation and the current phase of the peaceful settlement process of Nagorno Karabakh problem, touched upon Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union, the opportunities and perspectives of the development of the RA-European Union relations.

In the course of the meeting the sides also referred to a number of inner-political problems, especially the process of the reforms and a number of necessary legislative activities to be implemented after the Constitutional Amendments, as well as the study of the European Union experience and the peculiarities of its use in the RA state administration system.

Artak Zakaryan also presented the functions of the Committee led by him, then upon their request answered a series of questions regarding Armenia’s inner and foreign policy, giving necessary clarifications.

The Committee Chair has expressed his gratitude to the German Bundestag for the adoption of Resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide on June 2, 2016 and noted that the recognition of genocides is an important step in prevention of crimes against mankind.
