On September 14, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings. The NA deputies continued debating the issue of appointing RA Prosecutor General.

The NA deputies Nikol Pashinyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Vahram Mkrtchyan, Levon Dokholyan, Hovhannes Margaryan, Tevan Poghosyan, Mher Shahgeldyan, Aram Manukyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Gagik Melikyan, Gagik Jhangiryan, Samvel Farmanyan and Hovhannes Sahakyan expressed their opinion on the issue under debate.

In his extraordinary speech the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov touched upon the situation existing in the judicial-legal system and stressed that during the recent years there was no corruption in the system. He also expressed confidence that the problems existing in the sphere will be solved thanks to Artur Davtyan’s work.

The heads of the parliamentary factions (Heghine Bisharyan – Rule of Law, Armen Rustamyan – ARF, Levon Zurabyan – ANC, Vahram Baghdasaryan – RPA) expressed their views on the nominated candidacy.

The Chairman of the NA Ad-hoc Accounting Committee Sukias Avetisyan informed that at the sitting of the Committee a decision was made to hold the election on appointment of the RA Prosecutor General on September 15 at 13:30 – 14:10, at the foyer next to the NA Session Hall.

In his final speech Artur Davtyan, thanking the MPs for the sounded proposals, expressed readiness to cooperate with the parliament in future, which, to his assessment, will give opportunity to debate problems more concretely.

Afterwards the parliament considered the issue of the election of the member of the National Commission on Television and Radio. Let us note that Tigran Hakobyan was recognized winner in the vacant position of the Commission member. The candidate noted that his wish is to take part in the electronic media development of Armenia. He stated that he will try to promote with his activity the solution of the problems existing within the authorities of the Commission.

The debate of the issue will resume at September 15 sitting of the National Assembly.

In accordance with the law the NA Rules of Procedure, at the last sitting the members of the RA Government answered the deputies’ questions.
