On April 13, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov received the member of the Parliament of the Republic of Greece Garyfallia Kanelli.
Welcoming the guest the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov highly assessed the Armenian-Greek relations of many centuries and documented that the Greek MP’s visit to Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia also witnessed to that.
Eduard Sharmazanov thanked Garyfallia Kanelli for being next to the Armenian people in these grave and hard days and giving a hand which, according to him, is a vivid example of democracy and protection of human rights. The NA Deputy Speaker highlighted Garyfallia Kanelli’s visit to the NKR, evaluating it in terms of forming an own opinion on the Karabakh-Azerbaijani recent events. Touching upon the fact of the Greek MP’s appearing “on the black list” of Azerbaijan, the NA Deputy Speaker considered inadmissible in the 21st century the restriction of the move of a man, moreover the PACE MP. He expressed hope that Garyfallia Kanelli will present to her European and Greek colleagues the real picture of the events occurred in Nagorno Karabakh. The NA Deputy Speaker emphasized the Greek MP’s position, according to which, the events being a reason for casualties are condemnable, as well as the use of double standards on the problem.
Thanking for the warm reception Garyfallia Kanelli referred to her visit to Nagorno Karabakh and deemed inadmissible the human lives’ losses for other’s interests. She assured that she would do her best to stop the Azerbaijani aggression and the innocent lives’ sacrificing.
Talking about her visits to Tstitsernakaberd and Yerablur Pantheon Mrs Kanelli attached importance to the condemnation of genocides as, according to her, non-condemned crimes are full danger of repetition. She considered necessary to combine efforts and unitedly fight for protection of human rights and their execution.
