On November 24 the meeting of the Expert-Advisory Board of the CSTO PA Council was held, where the RA NA deputy Khosrov Harutyunyan took part. Numerous documents were debated, including items on the agenda of the upcoming sitting of the CSTO PA Council.

On November 25 the International Conference “The Priorities for the Inter-parliamentary Cooperation within the CSTO to Strengthen Collective and International Security at the Present Stage,” the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of the RA NA Delegation to the CSTO PA Eduard Sharmazanov and the NA deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Conference Khosrov Harutyunyan took part. Many speeches were voiced during the sitting. The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov delivered a speech within the framework of theme on the International Situation of the CSTO Member Nations.

The sittings of the CSTO PA Commissions were held.

The Chairman of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Khosrov Harutyunyan moderated the sitting of the Commission. The document “On the Unity of Efforts of the CSTO MPs and Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States Aimed at Counteraction against Terrorism and Other Forms of Violent Extremism” was particularly debated.

The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan took part in the sitting of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues. He delivered a report on consultation coordinating the Chairs of the Commissions on Defense and Security Issues of the CSTO PA Member Nations to the CSTO PA and on the results of military-political monitoring held in Dushanbe on May 26-27.

The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan took part in the CSTO PA Commission on Social-Economic and Legal Issues, who presented the draft law “On Recommendations on Legislation Harmonization of the CSTO PA Member Nations in Strengthening the Energy Security.”

On the next day the sitting of the CSTO PA Council was held, attended by the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan, the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of the RA NA Delegation to the CSTO PA Eduard Sharmazanov, the NA deputy Khosrov Harutyunyan and the NA Permanent Representative to the IPA CIS Hayk Chilinigaryan. Numerous issues were debated, and particularly a decision was made to hold the next sitting in Armenia in the first semester of 2016. Eduard Sharmazanov delivered a speech “On Priorities of the RA Presidency in the CSTO PA in 2016.”

On November 26 the CSTO PA 8^th Plenary Session was also held in Tavrichesky Palace, where Eduard Sharmazanov and Khosrov Harutyunyan took part.

The Chairman of the CSTO PA Council, the Speaker of the RF FA State Duma Sergey Narishkin moderated the Session. Items concerning the harmonization of the legislations in the CSTO Member Nations were debated.

On November 26 the sittings of the IPA CIS Commissions were also held.

The NA deputy Rubik Hakobyan took part in the sitting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation. Numerous items were debated at the sitting, including the draft statement of the IPA CIS Council “On Inadmissibility of the Use of the Restrictive Regimes for Political Reasons towards the Parliamentary Delegations and National Parliaments in the International Practice.”

The NA deputy Hayk Babukhanyan took part in the sitting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education. He presented the draft proposal “On Cooperation of the Young Scientists of the CIS Member Nations” which was accepted by the Committee.

The NA deputy Aghvan Vardanyan took part in the sitting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights. Numerous issues were debated, including model draft laws on migration and insurance medicine.

The NA deputy Armen Avetisyan took part in the sitting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission of Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology. The agenda items were mainly related to ecology and ecological examination.

On the same day the Session of the IPA CIS Council was held in Tavrichesky Palace, which moderated the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko. The RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan, the NA deputies Rubik Hakobyan, Hayk Babukhanyan and the NA Permanent Representative to the IPA CIS Hayk Chilinigaryan took part in the Session. The statements of the IPA CIS Council “On Inadmissibility of the Use of the Restrictive Regimes for Political Reasons towards the Parliamentary Delegations and National Parliaments in the International Practice” were adopted.

On November 27 the 43^rd Plenary Session of the IPA CIS was held, where the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, the NA deputies Rubik Hakobyan, Aghvan Vardanyan Hayk Babukhanyan, Armen Avetisyan and the NA Permanent Representative to the IPA CIS Hayk Chilinigaryan, the RA Chief Consul in Saint Petersburg Hrayr Karapetyan and Director of Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran (Institute of Ancient Manuscripts) Hrachya Tamrazyan took part.

At the Plenary Session Hrachya Tamrazyan was given the IPA CIS Chingiz Aitmatov Award, which was handed by Valentina Matvienko. Hrachya Tamrazyan delivered a speech at the Session.

During the IPA CIS 43^rd Plenary Session the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov was given the IPA CIS higher Award, the IPA CIS “Cooperation” Order by the RF FA Federal Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko.

At the end of the events a press conference was held, where the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov took part.
